Ghana (formally the Gold Coast) has been referred to as:
the land of HOSPITALITY
the gateway to Africa
the golden heart of Africa
friendly, safe, historic and amazingly inexpensive
one of the least corrupt nations in the African continent, etc.

The people of Ghana (Ghanaians) have in turn been described as 'one of the worlds friendliest peoples'. The warm, vibrant and colourful Ghanaian hospitality is captured in the national 'AKWAABA' phrase (meaning welcome in the Akan language).

For the tourist, there are various memorable and inexpensive activities to indulge in. The unique Ghanaian experience ranges from the rich cultural heritage, vibrant music and food experiences, to exploring remnants of the historic slave trade (castles & forts), beautiful untouched coastlines to the West African wildlife.
